Dr. Bourdeanu is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Nursing at the Excelsior College. She received her BS from University of Hartford, CT, an MSN from Yale University, CT, and a PhD from Azusa Pacific University, CA. She practiced as a hematology/oncology nurse practitioner at Yale Medical Center in the Bone Marrow Transplant program, and at City of Hope Medical Center in the Breast Cancer Program. Her research and clinical interests are in the area of oncology, specifically understanding risk factors for developing severe side effects to the cancer treatment and barriers to breast cancer screening. Her most recent research seeks to determine the barriers to breast cancer screening in Lebanese and Lebanese American women. In addition, she is interested in determining the burnout rate and coping skills of hematology/oncology nurse practitioners in order to develop prevention interventions not only for the current nurse practitioners in this field but also for the future ones.
